Lucile A. Bertolaso-Scarlett is an architectural designer, scenographer, creative collaborator and strong believer in sustainable design, ethical and circular economy, and community involvement for a better quality of life. She is passionate about designing for and with people, for a fairer and more sustainable future, across borders.

She holds an MA in Scenography (Central School of Speech and Drama, UK), a BA in Architecture (St. Luc Architecture Faculty, Belgium) and a ARB Part 1 BA in Architecture with First Class Honours (LSBU, UK).

Lucile currently works on various projects as an Architectural Designer and Project Lead at studioNWA in Hertfordshire. Lucile was promoted to Associate Director at studioNWA in May 2024. Additional to her work as designer on architectural projects, Lucile collaborates and/or leads on the standardisation of work within the practice, production of templates to facilitate and guide the practitioners, harmonisation of graphics across teams and the work.

She was previously involved in projects for Retrouvius Design and for QPDB/QPAD, as an Architectural Assistant/ 3D Designer. She has also worked independently as a Revit 3D-Modeller for the Urbanism & Planning Department at TR-Enginreering, an Urban Design and Town Planning company. Lucile was involved with Wilde International Network, Every Woman Inspired, and Maendeleo Services, as a multi-media designer.

Furthermore, her multiple interests and eclectic background led her to work as a workshop leader at Rugby Portobello Trust youth club, on the Girls Singing Workshop Project, Tuned In, and at Squeaky Gate in music workshops such as Urban Music and Live Music, fulfilling her passion for music, youth and communities.  

Lucile designed the scenography for the Festival du Pont d'Oye 2013, Belgium. In spring 2012, she collaborated with French contemporary/hip-hop dance company Par-Alleles on their project The Three Wise Monkeys. Lucile has also collaborated with Kordkor International's workshop INARTEE, an intercultural performance based company.
